Oakley is one of the top sports equipment manufacturers and designers in the world one of the things they are most well known for is their extensive range of sunglasses.
Having been around since 1975, the company has had plenty of time to perfect their style and experiment with various ideas.
A few years back Oakley studied with the notion of wearables and produced a pair of sunglasses that were equipped with an MP3 player for easy listening. But, the idea never really took off and soon got put on the back burner. However, Oakley has now decided to pull them out of the cupboard and give them another go with a bit of revamping.
Teaming up with Intel, Oakley is confident that they now have the next big thing regarding sunglasses with the new Radar Pace model. These funky glasses work as a fitness tracker, motivator, and coach all in one. They have the ability to measure the wearer’s speed cadence, distance and time and feature a built-in accelerometer and gyroscope. It doesn’t stop there either. The Radar Pace can also measure pressure, humidity, and proximity and give the wearer real-time feedback about how their workout is going.
So, if you are looking for something to give you more motivation during exercise time, or only make you look cool at the gym, then whey does not check them out? However, with a price tag of $450, this isn’t a product for the faint hearted, and it may be that only those serious gym users or hardcore Oakley fans are the ones who will end up purchasing them.
