10 Technological Dreams That Became Our Reality Today!

We live in a miraculous age, where sci-fi wonders are part of everyday life. You don’t think so? How about the fact that we carry tiny, absurdly powerful computers around in our pockets?

It was just a generation or two ago when computers took up entire buildings and were used only for doing math and launching missiles. Now we take our phones out when we want to know the name of a song, and we get annoyed when they don’t recognize it quickly enough while also giving us directions and letting us talk to someone 3,000 miles away.

That would have seemed like science fiction not too long ago—just like these 10 inventions might today. But these are some of the crazy new gadgets and ideas that might end up changing the world. This is the stuff that the future is made of.

1. Self-Driving Cars.

Self-driving cars, like Google’s prototype vehicle, may seem like the stuff of science fiction, but they’re getting close to reality. Ford, in January, showed off its infrastructure for fully-automated driving. And BMW announced a research-and-development project related to THIS technology.Other companies putting brainpower to self-driving cars include Delphi and Texas Instruments. Once they hit the streets, the hands-free driving these cars offer could give commuters more time to get work done and reduce traffic congestion.

2. Clean Energy

We have already found ways to tap into the energy of the sun, wind, waves and water, amongst other things.These sources of energy produce only very small amounts of greenhouse gas once operating if any at all – now that’s clean!

They are also renewable which means they can be used over and over again.

The challenge is finding ways to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions when dirty energy sources are used to make power and develop the clean energy industry so it supplies more and more of the energy we use.

Work on flying cars continues. The difference between flying cars that use almost the same technology as drones is that they must be large enough to carry human beings. They’ve already got the first elements of an artificial rat brain nailed down which, incidentally, might explain why the Internet keeps hissing at us and scurrying into the corner.Such virtues may possess the ability to solve philosophical questions that have been plaguing mankind (or at least former psychology majors who couldn’t hack the bio requirements) for centuries, a greater understanding of how to treat mental impairments and even the elimination of pharmaceutical drug experimentation on humans. It makes sense, doesn’t it?
